REALTORS®: How to Create Strong Business Relationships With Home Buyers

As a builder of new homes in Coppell and Las Colinas, Texas, we know that buying a home is the largest (and often most stressful) financial decision a person can make in their lifetime. It is crucial that they are able to place 100 percent of their trust in the REALTOR® who is helping them navigate the real estate market and the complexities that occur throughout the home buying process. Here are three things you can do for them in order to create a strong relationship - and hopefully a recommendation from them in the future!

1. Ease clients’ anxiety by plotting out all of the steps to take throughout the buying process and when to take them – especially when it requires them to take direct action. You will be surprised by how much a visual guide helps a client feel comfortable and in control from beginning to end.

2. Use numbers. Give homebuyers prices for comparable homes in the area that have recently sold. If you are upfront with them regarding what’s fair and unfair using actual figures, the more likely they are to trust you and believe in your ability as a hired professional.

3. Ask questions. Have clients complete a questionnaire before beginning the home search. This way, you’ll know exactly what they’re looking for because you have it on paper.

Some items to include in the questionnaire: “Must haves”

“Nice to haves”

“Avoidable”

“Deal breakers”

“Preferred house style”

If they complete it accurately and honestly, it will help you be as efficient as possible – a trait every home buyer appreciates!
