If you are the family host this holiday season, make sure to equip yourself with a great itinerary of places you can take the troops and show them the best of what Dallas has to offer. Normandy Homes has put together some of our favorite places to explore that will be sure to impress family members of all ages.
For The Tourists And First-Timers
You can’t come to Dallas and not visit The Sixth Floor Museum and The Old Red Museum to get a taste of Dallas history and culture. Other museums you can’t miss if you have time are the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Museum for those art lovers in the family. Also, make the drive out to Fort Worth and visit the Stockyards to see a nice cattle drive and dowboys in action.
For The Shoppers
Depending on which Normandy Homes community you live in, some of the best malls you can visit will be the Allen Premium Outlets, Grapevine Mills Mall, and Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. The Galleria Mall in Dallas also sets up a spectacular Christmas tree in their ice skating rink every year, making it a popular spot for family photos.
For The Foodies
Plano and Addison are booming with new restaurants recognized nationally and worldwide. If you happen to be closer to downtown, make sure to take the family at a good steakhouse or venture out to McKinney or Henderson Avenues to taste the most trending restaurants in the area. Of course, nothing beats an incredible dinner on the revolving Reunion Tower to get a spectacular view of the Dallas skyline.
The best part about the holiday season in Dallas are all of the great events going on around town. Make plans to go to a Cowboys game or watch one of the many holiday performances going on in theaters across the metroplex. One of the newest holiday favorites in Dallas is also the Chinese Lantern Festival at Fair Park, so if you haven’t checked it out before don’t miss out on this great experience this year.
