Make Yourself at Home in McKinney’s Painted Tree Community

A tall glass of iced tea on the patio. A sunset walk with a neighbor. A leisurely fishing excursion. A family bike ride followed by a lakeside picnic. Indulge in these simple pleasures — and more — in the new Painted Tree master-planned community coming to McKinney, Texas, in mid-2022.

In the midst of the growing, thriving suburb of McKinney just 30 miles north of Dallas, Normandy Homes will soon offer new homes in the Painted Tree neighborhood currently under development. You’ll find the perfect setting to connect with nature and each other through miles of winding nature trails and paved pathways. Neighborhood amenities, including pools and National Park-inspired gathering spaces, strike the perfect balance between modern conveniences and serene green spaces.

The Vision for Painted Tree

Situated off of I-75 and US-380, the Painted Tree community is near everything today’s busy family wants and needs. The neighborhood is just three miles from picturesque downtown McKinney, where you’ll find local eateries, shops, and entertainment. Drive a mile to Costco and other nearby grocery stores to stock up for your next cookout. For peace of mind, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is only a half-mile away. With all of its growth, McKinney still holds its hometown charm among its population of 200,000-plus.

Driving the streets of Painted Tree, you’ll uncover the true adage: “Nature is the cure we didn’t know we needed.” Nestled on the north side of McKinney are Painted Tree’s 200 acres of natural open spaces, 25 miles of looped paths, and 20-acre Painted Tree Lake (stocked and ready for fishing!). Here, imaginations can run wild. The nature trails will invite exploration and include creekside meandering; sculptures, treehouses, and other surprises to discover; and picnic stops along the way, according to Avid Trails, the design firm planning the impressive trail system.

“The design of this community is anchored in the realization that nature is a necessity,” said Tom Woliver, Co-President of Oxland Group, Painted Tree’s Developer. “We understood from the land that we needed to engage and embrace it, allowing people a place to get out of their homes and into nature.”

Preserving mature trees and restoring natural landscapes will result in an inspiring respite from life’s hubbub and a retreat from digital landscapes. And the groundbreaking last summer? Watch here as community developers brought in 100 goats to help clear 11.5 acres of the development.

The Lakeside District

Painted Tree will be comprised of three distinct districts driven by each area’s natural character: the Lakeside, Village, and Woodland districts. Single-family homes by Normandy Homes will first open in the Lakeside District in Summer 2022, which includes the sparkling Painted Tree Lake. Homeowners will find themselves drawn to the calm waters for fishing, reading, walking, and meditating on what’s truly important in life. Paved pathways and off-the-beaten-path trails will make their way through the trees to the lake and dock area.

Residents will also enjoy a short walk to The Outpost, the signature community gathering place, and Lakeside Trailhead and Pool. The Outpost won’t be a typical neighborhood center, but rather one that’s inspired by outdoor curiosity at its 11.5-acre trailhead location. Kids can stargaze from the observation deck, families can gather around a fire pit, or friends meet for a casual dinner at the patio tables.

Taking your dog for a walk or stepping outside your doorstep to commune with nature will be hassle-free from your home in the Lakeside District. Make memories splashing around your summer afternoons while cooling off at the pool.

A Normandy Home For Your Family

Normandy Homes, a proud Texas-based builder focused on constructing exceptional new DFW homes, is privileged to be the first builder in Phase One of the master-planned Painted Tree community.

Normandy Homes will offer six gorgeous one- and two-story floorplans in the Lakeside District, ranging from 2,173 square feet to 3,356 square feet. The plans include three to four bedrooms and bathrooms; select plans offer an optional fifth bedroom and bathroom. In today’s changing workforce, homeowners will appreciate the dedicated study or flex room, plus spaces for families to connect, including game rooms or media rooms (per plan).

As the heart of the home, open kitchen/dining/family rooms serve as the natural place for families to gather for a meal at the end of a busy day or the ideal entertaining hub — before heading out to the community’s lush gathering spots, parks, or trails. Peruse our selection of new floorplans here

The completed Painted Tree community will include 3,400 units of single-family homes, townhomes, build-to-lease cottages, and multi-family rentals.
